I was also given a mod position at a webmaster forum I haven't visited in ages, not because I'm not interested but because I didn't have the time or didn't feel like visiting it lately..

Hi everyone!

Since am about to move to a new place in one week am not sure how long i´ll stay without internet connection nor how much time i´ll have to work on @ES plus since am planning to re-write the hole thing after Beta7 i thought not to waste more time in the actual code and the latest build.

Beta 7 Changes:

*Slider bug is definitelly fixed(i thought it was fixed in the last Beta but then i found out it was buggy).
*search functionality(Press CTRL+S to open the layer, type the text to search and if is the correct one just press ESC to close otherwise press ENTER to jump to the next match).
*Search-on-key(Press a key on your keyboard to jump to the next cover starting with the key pressed).
*fixed lots of bugs that caused @ES to crash.
*Console selection menu re-designed(Coverflow).
*Remotejoy support(configure Remotejoy when asked or in the settings file and click the last icon of the main menu).
Note: Remotejoy menu is called by pressing ESC.. in order to close the Remotejoy layer just press ALT + ESC

*Folder scanning function re-written! select single/multiple folder(s) and drop them to the albums layer, each folder will turn into an album if it contains at least a valid file.

*ePSXe is set as Standard emulator in the PSX section
*Daemon-Tools removed(ePSXe doesn´t need daemon-tools anymore but is still required for SSF)
*Naomi support.
*Dolphin Betas support.
*Wii section added and supported.
*Listview mode complete but not implemented yet(am still working on it and it needs some changes in order to be added correctly.. eventhough i´ve added a preview under the "Settings" icon so press this icon after you have some albums added and press ESC to exit.)
*New standard skin "Iphone - Reloaded" made by me

Known issues:
*ePSXe(still a pain for me ) doesn´t get back to normal after you switch to fullscreen.
*sometimes(rarely) some covers aren´t displayed(wait few secs after you load albums/roms to avoid that bug)

Todo:
*Listview mode implementation.
*Gamepad implementation for use with emulators that use the keyboard only.
*Finger-Tracking(control @ES/games with your hands/fingers using a sensor or just a simple webcam).
*Better Video menu/display.
*Better Audio List/management.
*@ES screen/skin Sizes.
http://www.xpadder.com/

For those of you who don't know what Xpadder is, it's a great little tool which allows mapping of keyboard buttons to your gamepad, it's basically a gamepad owner's best friend.

The final version is v5.3
There's just a bit of problem here though, most sites list the usual incomplete 500kb download as everything else whas always available from the site for those that needed it. As development has ceased however that's no longer so and the complete build is needed (37MB), so I suggest you grab the complete build from the site before the Mediafire hosting it has expires.

He tells her to take off her shirt and bra and
he starts rubbing her breasts. He says "Do you
know what I am doing now?" She replies "Yes,
checking for lumps and cancer." Finally, he tells
he takes off her panties, lays her on the table,
gets on top of her, and starts having sex with
her. He says "Do you know what I am doing now?"
She replies "Yes, getting herpes. That's why I
am here."

Quote:CodeWeavers Inc is offering “free software for every American” tomorrow, October 28, the company announced today. The move is due to the catastrophic cratering of the global economy, falling gas prices and last, but certainly not least, President George W. Bush.

According to an official CodeWeavers report, Bush's recent executive activities have indirectly prompted the software developers to offer their software for free for one whole day. And that day is tomorrow. The company, as some of you may know, is responsible for a great piece of software called [SIZE="4"]CrossOver, which enables you to run Windows apps on your Mac, without the need of a virtual environment like Parallels[/SIZE].

According to the same report, in July, CodeWeavers launched the Great American Lame Duck Presidential Challenge, in an attempt to get President Bush to make the most of his remaining days in office. The software developers said they'd be so thrilled if Bush would accomplish a major economic or political goal by January 20, 2009, that they'd offer all their software for free. Bush was supposed to make specific positive accomplishments in areas such as the economy, home values, the stock market, the war on terror and other key issues, but one goal in particular called for the President to help bring average gasoline prices in the Twin Cities to $2.79 a gallon. Monday, Oct 14, saw it happen, says the report.

"That morning, I was filling my tank at Big Steve's Gas Palace in St. Paul," said Jeremy White, president and CEO of CodeWeavers. "I had just finished my morning corn dog and 64-ounce Dr. Pepper when I looked at the pump and noticed gas was at $2.79. I screamed ‘Woohoo,’ then I yelled ‘Oh, [expletive]!’ as I realized every American can now have my software for free. Kind of upsets my fourth quarter revenue projections..."

"I launched the campaign to inspire President Bush to make the most of his final days in office. Who knew that our Challenge would have this kind of impact on the country?" White added, admitting this was not how he foresaw the Challenge unfolding. "On the other hand, who knew that the economy would implode, causing oil demand to drop into the abyss and gas prices to plummet as well. Clearly, investigating Bear Stearns, AIG and those guys is misplaced – CodeWeavers is responsible for this mess. So it's free software for all!"

On Tuesday, October 28, 2008, anyone visiting the CodeWeavers' Web site will be given a deal code that will entitle them to one free copy of CrossOver. Each copy comes complete with support.

White said that his company would provide free software in the future, if other Great American Lame Duck Presidential Challenge goals are met. Those goals include:

- Return the stock market to its 2008 high;
- Reduce the average price of a gallon of milk to $3.50;
- Create at least one net job in the U.S. this calendar year;
- Return the median home price to its January 1, 2008 level;
- Bring Osama Bin-Laden to justice.

"I realize that by giving away all my software, I've caused horrific damage to my company's bottom line," White said. "In fact, our vice president of sales wretched Starbucks all over his shirt when he learned the news. But, I figure, the way the economy is going, in a few months everyone might be out on the streets, wearing potato sacks and standing in line for squirrel soup, so why not?" White concluded by saying.

Just to clear a few minor issues up, during the lessons some of you who are familiar with c++ might notice certain things not being mentioned or not mentioned well, the reason for that is that i am going almost word for word off of the material shown on the videos from 3dbuzz.com.

they do cover a lot but minor things are less out like the function printf, is not used, but instead cout is used just like scanf is not used but rather cin.

those who would like me to include these things, just pm me or mention it in a post and i will try to include it in the next lesson, that way as to cover as much as humanly possible as c++ is a very large and complex language so i can not think to cover everything, so i will miss a few things lol.

Thank you mudlord for bringing that to my attention .

1) Why no introduction to the C Standard Library? In your example, you could have shown the use of printf()
2) Why not show idiosyncracies with namespaces like std::cout? That is valid C++ namespace usage.....

For example

Code:

include <iostream>

int main()
{
  std::cout <<"Hello World" << std::endl;
}

3) Why not give a full explanation of what namespaces are?
I could also go on about asking why you aren't using C99 types in lesson 2 but I won't nitpick, too much.

Welcome to another c++ lesson, for this lesson we will be making our first c++ program. The object of the program will be to display hello world in a console.

First start by opening visual studio or any other compiler you may be using. I am going to be using microsoft visual studio .net 2008 for the course.

We will be wanting to create a new project so go up to File->New->Project...

You will be taken to the New Project window. To create a c++ console program, make sure the win32 type is selected under visual c++, than select win32 console application as the project type. You may give your project any name, than click ok.

Now you will be taken to the win32 application wizard, here just click on either application settings or click next.

Simply put a check mark next to empty project under additional options than click finish. Your new c++ project will be created.

Now that we have our project, we want to add a new source code file to type in the code for our program. go over to the solution explorer, right click source files, go to add->New Item...

Now you will be brought to the add new item window. To create our new source code file, select C++ File, than give our new file a name, it must start
with a letter, than click add.

Now that we have our empty source code file, we can type our code that will make up our program.

Code:

#include <iostream>

using namespace std;

void main()
{
    cout << "Hello World!" << endl;
}

Our first line is called a preprocessor directive, which instructs our compiler to do certain actions. In this case, to include another source code file, which in this case is iostream which stores functions for input and output.

next is whats called a using statement, which is used to import a namespace or parts of a namespace into a project, in this case we are telling the compiler to use the namespace std in our project(will explain this in a moment).

Next is our main function declaration which is the entry point of our program. Every program will use this main function, and the compiler will look for it when compiling the program and will let you know if its missing. functions will be explained in more detail in a later lesson, for now just know that our main function will not be returning anythign when it finishes.

Next, inside the curly brackets is our main block of code. cout instructs the program to output whatever is to the right, to the console. the << is used to add data to the cout output stream. "Hello World!" is the text we will be outputing to the console. Endl is used to end a line and start the next

output stream on the next lien of the console. Lastly we end our line of code with a ;. Every statement must end with a ; in c++.

By now i am sure some are wondering why i used a using namespace declaration near the top of our program. Had i not added the using statement, than to prevent your program from giving you errors you would have to put std:: in front of your cout and endl keywords as they exist in the std namespace of iostream. But by putting the using namespace std statement we can get around having to use the std:: part of the keyword. Also you could just put using std::cout; and using std::endl; in place of the using namespace std: statement as well to achieve the same result.

If all went well, when you compile your code and run it you should get the same output as the above picture.

Well that is all for this lesson, check back soon for lesson 4, if you have any questions feel free to ask them in the questions and answers forum.
